An average roof of 2000 sq ft, gathers 1,246 gallons of water during a 1 inch rainfall.
Where does this water go?
Without a Downspout Drain Line, the water ends up under your home causing foundation damage, wood rot, moist and wet crawl space, mold, mildew and insects. The Downspout Drain Tile moves the water away from your home and foundation and send it to the street or storm.
The Downspout Drain is the most important drain in the system of rainwater drainage. We sometimes call it the "Main Line" because you can always add more drains to this line. For Example. if you need a yard drain or a cacth basin, we can easily connect those systems to this line, A sump pump discharge needs to drain to the street or strom. With a Downspout Drain Installed, simply connect it and away the way goes. |

Foundation Drain Tiles
- These are pipes that run around the inside perimeter of your crawl space or basement. They are surrounded by gravel and usually lead to a sump pit and sump pump.
Related Costs - To install foundation drain tile averages $30.00 per foot. This is high due to the confined area of work. Most Crawl Spaces mean just that! You have to Crawl to get around, so you can imagine the difficultly in installing a system. First the perimeter is trenched and excavated along the foundation wal ldown to just below the footer. Then Gravel is brought in, usually ONE BUCKET at a time, Then the pipe is then installed and surround by the gravel. Next A Sump Pit, 24" deep is dug and the soil removed, again usually ONE Bucket at time. The new Foundation Drain is then connected to the sump pit and sump pump is installed. Next a discharge line is installed from the sump pump up and out through the foundation wall. A 2" inch core is drilled through the brick or block and a 1 1/2 inch PVC line is installed. This line should connect to the downspout drain line as we described above.
The average cost of installing foundation drains ranges from $2500 to $4500 plus the sump pit and sump pump (an additional $960.00). This is an expense, and we know it. We think of ourselves as surgeons. We Know this job MUST BE DONE RIGHT THE FIRST TIME and you can count us to make it right. Your home is the largest investmant you may ever make. Solve the water problem and maintain the foundation, before you start thinking about mositure barriers or dehumidifiers. Install Downspout Drains, Yards Drains, and if needed, Foundation Drains and a Sump Pump.
